When I’m not working as a headshot photographer, cooking and blogging, or hanging out with my husband and goofy yellow lab, I paint. I began on a whim one Spring evening in 2004, and considering my obsession with beautiful produce, have mostly focused on still life with minimalist compositions ever since. My photographic eye quickly infused my artwork with a sense of realism and contemporary flair. I love to explore the dance of light and shadow, color, and texture, capturing the emotional energy, personality, and sensuality stored in what I like to refer to as my “not so still lifes”. To that end, my paintings are often titled using evocative and humorous wordplay.
